The Indian Journal of Cardiovascular and General Surgery (IJCGS) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access medical journal dedicated to publishing high-quality research in:

Manuscript Submission

Authors should submit manuscripts in Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) format through the online submission system or via email.

Each manuscript receives a unique manuscript identification number for future correspondence.

Manuscript Formatting

Prepare manuscripts using:

  • English language

  • MS Word (.doc/.docx)

  • Times New Roman

  • Font Size: 12

  • Title: Font Size 14, Bold

  • Line Spacing: 1.5

  • A4 paper

  • 1-inch margins

  • Continuous page numbering

Original Research Articles should contain:

Title Page

The title page should include:

  • Article title

  • Running title (optional)

  • Full names of all authors

  • Institutional affiliations

  • ORCID IDs (recommended)

  • Corresponding author's name

  • Email

  • Phone number

  • Postal address

​

Abstract

Word limit:

250–300 words

The abstract should include:

  • Background

  • Objectives

  • Methods

  • Results

  • Conclusion

​

Keywords

Provide 3–6 keywords, preferably using MeSH terminology.

Ethical Requirements

Studies involving humans must include:

  • Institutional Ethics Committee approval

  • Informed consent

Animal studies must comply with national and international ethical standards.

Clinical trials should include registration details where applicable.

Tables and Figures

  • Number consecutively.

  • Provide clear titles and legends.

  • Images should have a minimum resolution of 300 dpi.

  • Cite all tables and figures in the text.

​

References

The journal follows the Vancouver Referencing Style.

Authors are encouraged to include DOIs for references whenever available.

​

Plagiarism Policy

All submissions are screened for plagiarism.

  • Recommended similarity index: ≤10–15% (excluding references and standard methods).

  • Manuscripts with plagiarism, duplicate publication, or fabricated data may be rejected.

Peer Review

The journal follows a Double-Blind Peer Review process.

Editorial decisions may be:

  • Accept

  • Minor Revision

  • Major Revision

  • Reject

The Editor-in-Chief makes the final publication decision.

Authorship

Authorship should comply with ICMJE Recommendations.

Each author should have substantially contributed to:

  • Study conception and design

  • Data collection

  • Statistical analysis

  • Manuscript preparation

  • Final approval

Copyright

Upon acceptance, authors must complete the journal's Copyright Transfer or License Agreement before publication.
